About Us

Founded in 1957, Exceptional Foresters Inc. (dba EFI) was America's first community-sponsored Residential and Vocational Rehabilitation Program for customers with developmental disabilities. EFI is still unique to this day as one of the few agencies that provide both Residential and Vocational Services to this population.

Our Residential Program operates 16 Supported Living homes in Shelton and Thurston County, WA, where we provide 24/7 care and living skills training for our residents, enabling them to live in comfort while attaining their highest level of independence in all phases of their lives. EFI also provides support in the community for individuals who want to live independently in their own homes.

EFI's Vocational Services is able to make a quality match between an employer's needs and our customer's abilities. Many employers contact EFI when they are looking for qualified employees to fill a need at their business.
