Description
Attendees are invited to run or walk beautiful estuary trails and support the next generation of Hood Canal stewards at the first annual Hood Canal Salmon Run 5K! The 5K course offers a flat, unpaved trail around the picturesque Union River Estuary. Whether individuals are experienced runners or simply wish to enjoy the views and fresh air, this event caters to all skill levels. Running or walking will contribute to supporting the next generation of Hood Canal stewards.
This fundraiser aligns with the Hood Canal Salmon Enhancement Group’s mission of connecting people, land, and salmon through restoration, education, and research. Proceeds from the 5K will directly aid the organization's educational programs, particularly the Farm Stewards (ages 7-11) and Explore the Fjord (ages 12-16) summer camps, which heavily rely on community donations. These camps aim to foster meaningful connections between local youth and the Hood Canal through affordable, hands-on summer learning experiences.
The event will take place, rain or shine, ensuring an enjoyable and impactful experience for all participants.
