SUMMARY:Watershed Ecology: A Stream Stewardship Youth Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Whether you're passionate about the environment\, curious about science\, or eager to make a difference\, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore a rewarding career path in preserving our planet's precious watersheds. Students will explore the ever-changing anatomy of streams and rivers\, learn to identify the differences between healthy and unhealthy rivers\, discover what a career in watershed ecology entails\, and explore the rewarding work of restoration. - Participation is limited to 20 kids\, ages 11-14 - This session is available for FREE with an optional donation. - Please have your child dress according to the weather. Close toed shoes are required. Come prepared so that we can have fun outside (rain gear\, hat\, etc). - Please plan on dropping off your child a few minutes prior to the beginning of the workshop and arriving at 5:30pm for pick-up. -To ensure equal engagement for all participants\, guardians are not permitted to sit in on workshops. However\, you are welcome to explore the Salmon Center grounds and our neighbor Theler Wetlands while your children are in class.
